Paramount Pictures has recently revealed the highly anticipated trailer for Ridley Scott’s Roman-style film “Gladiator II,” which was partially filmed in Ouarzazate (South-Central Morocco), the film is scheduled for release on November 15, 2024.
The trailer features spectacular battle scenes, including epic clashes in water-filled arenas and gladiators fighting wild animals. Accompanied by the song “No Church in the Wild” by Jay-Z and Kanye West, the imagery promises a thrilling cinematic experience.
Actor Paul Mescal stars as Lucius, the main character who, years after Maximus’ death, rises to become a gladiator within the Roman Empire. His co-stars are Pedro Pascal as General Acacius, Denzel Washington as Macrinus the arms dealer, and returning cast members Connie Nielsen and Derek Jacobi.
The trailer quickly went viral, amassing 15 million views on Paramount Pictures’ YouTube channel in 6 days. Ouarzazate is building a reputation as a favorite site for moviemakers due to its dramatic landscape.
Ridley Scott picked Ouarzazate for the first part of “Gladiator 1,” and the sequel will be in the same location.
