Morocco’s King Mohammed VI expressed “sympathy and solidarity” with Donald Trump following the assassination attempt during a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania on Saturday.
The Monarch said in a message that “he was “shocked and deeply saddened by yesterday’s appalling assassination attempt at the campaign rally.”
The Sovereign added that he was relieved to learn that Trump is “safe.”
The King also strongly condemns “political violence and wishes Trump a speedy recovery so that you may continue to serve your great nation.”
“My thoughts and prayers are with you, Mr. President, your family, and the innocent victims of this deplorable act,” he said
During a campaign rally, a gunshot struck Trump in the ear in a shooting, resulting in visible bleeding. His campaign said that he was “doing well” and he had been discharged from the hospital and had returned to his home in New Jersey.
The Secret Service swiftly neutralized the suspected assailant, who was later confirmed dead. The motive of the attack remains unkown.
The shooting resulted in the death of one spectator and two others sustained critical injuries.
