Renault Group’s Tangier plant has unveiled its first Dacia Jogger vehicles labeled “Made in Morocco,” featuring both hybrid and combustion engine options.
The plant’s second line now produces the Dacia Jogger for European and Moroccan markets, boasting an annual production capacity of up to 120,000 vehicles for this model.
More than 2,500 employees have been trained for the launch of the Jogger, with 700 specifically trained in electrical certification. Around 30 robots have been installed in the sheet metal and assembly departments, with processes tailored for integrating hybrid technology.
Ryad Mezzour, Minister of Industry and Commerce, announced at the official ceremony held at the Tangier factory that 200 Dacia Joggers will be produced every day. The Dacia Jogger, which was launched in Europe in 2022, achieved over 100,000 sales last year, indicating a significant business opportunity for Morocco.
The minister pointed out that “the production of the Dacia Jogger reflects the strengthening partnership between the Kingdom and the Renault Group,” adding that this achievement also “underscores the success of Morocco’s automotive platform, the competence of its workforce, and the competitiveness of its local suppliers.”
The minister further noted that with this new model, “Morocco continues its transition towards electric and hybrid mobility and makes decarbonized manufacturing a cornerstone of its new industrial strategy.”
The Dacia Jogger will be available at all Dacia dealerships across Morocco starting from September 20.
