A huge blaze broke out Saturday morning at the Meghogha industrial zone in Tangier, northern Morocco. The incident occurred when a tanker truck, in the process of unloading fuel oil at an industrial facility entrance, caught fire.
The fire caused the tanker container to explode, damaging a nearby personnel transport vehicle. Local authorities, Police services, and civil protection teams rushed to the scene to contain the fire.
Seven individuals suffered asphyxiation due to the smoke and were promptly admitted to Mohammed V Hospital for medical treatment. Authorities have confirmed that their conditions are stable.
No fatalities have been reported. A judicial investigation is underway to determine the circumstances of the incident.
