The 19th Throne Cup Golf Tournament will be held on July 22-27 at the Royal Golf Dar Es Salam in Rabat, the Royal Moroccan Golf Federation (FRMG) announced on Fiday.
300 players from 8 clubs will compete in this year’s edition, the Federation pointed out in a press release.
The “Seniors” Throne Cup will take place in the Parcours Bleu, with teams consisting of 10 players each led by a captain. The main competition, the “Classic” Throne Cup, will be hosted in the Parcours Rouge and will also be comprised of teams of ten players with a captain for each.
The tournament will attract players from the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR), including African and Arab champions.
In 2023, the FRMG and the Hassan II Trophy Association introduced the “Juniors at the Throne Cup,” the first competition for young talents.
The 2nd “Juniors” Throne Cup will be played in the Parcours Vert, featuring teams of six players aged 9 to 14 years old, each with a captain.
The previous edition’s title was claimed by the Royal Golf Anfa Mohammedia Club.
