The Moroccan Ministry of Health and Social Protection has confirmed in its latest weekly bulletin released on Friday 12 new cases of COVID-19, without any reported fatalities.
The ministry said that 24,924,887 individuals received their first vaccine dose on July 6-12, 2024, while 23,426,913 completed their second dose. It added that 6,889,659 people have been fully vaccinated with three doses, and 61,576 individuals have received a booster dose.
Since the first case was reported in Morocco on March 2, 2020, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases has risen to 1,279,379, with a weekly positivity rate of 6%.
The ministry maintained that the cumulative death toll remains at 16,307, equating to a general fatality rate of 1.3%. Currently, there are 15 active cases under observation.
The newly reported infections are geographically distributed as follows: Rabat-Salé-Kénitra recorded seven cases, Grand Casablanca-Settat confirmed two cases, while Souss-Massa, Fès-Meknès, and Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima reported one case each.
