The Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency, the operational arm of the Al-Quds Committee, received the Award of Excellence for Humanitarian Action from the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean (PAM) on Thursday in Marrakech.
The award was presented to Mohamed Salem Cherkaoui, Director of Management of the Agency, during the opening session of the Parliamentary Economic Forum for the Euro-Mediterranean and Gulf Region, held on July 11-12.
The award recognizes the Agency’s significant contributions to humanitarian and social initiatives in the region, closely aligned with the political and legal efforts supporting the Palestinian cause. It also underscores Morocco’s role in fostering partnerships across the Euro-Mediterranean region and promoting values of mutual respect, coexistence, cooperation, and solidarity.
During the event, attendees were treated to a documentary showcasing the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency’s impactful humanitarian and social programs, as well as its efforts to safeguard the legal status of Jerusalem.
Cherkaoui said the award “is a testament to King Mohammed VI’s dedication, particularly in implementing concrete social assistance projects through the Al-Quds Committee.”
The Excellence Award was announced during the PAM’s 18th Plenary Session held in Braga, Portugal, under the presidency of Speaker of the Upper House Enaam Mayara.
