The Emirati football club Al Jazira has announced the appointment of Moroccan national Houcine Ammouta as the new head coach of the team.
Al Jazira said on the platforme “X” formerly “Twitter” that it signed with Ammouta to lead the team until 2026.
The Moroccan coach will be on the bench for Al Jazira during the club’s pre-season training camp, set to take place in Spain in July.
Ammouta previously played in the Emirati football league for Sharjah during the 2002-2003 season, before achieving success in Qatar with Al Sadd both as a player and a coach.
Prior to joining Al Jazira, Ammouta made headlines as the coach of the Jordanian national football team, leading the “Nashama” to their first-ever Asian Cup final in Qatar.
He also secured Jordan’s qualification for the final stages of the upcoming AFC Asian Cup 2027 in Saudi Arabia, as well as for the third and final round of Asian qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
