Renaissance de Berkane (RSB) player Adil Tahif has joined the final squad list to compete at the Paris Olympics, head coach Tarik Sektioui announced on Tuesday.
Tahif will replace Ayman El Wafi whose Swiss club FC Lugano refused to release him to join the Moroccan team for the tournament. Brahim Diaz and Ismael Saibari were also unable to secure release from their clubs Real Madrid and PSV Eindhoven respectively.
Tarik Sektioui unveiled last week a list of 22 players who will participate in the Paris Olympics, which include Achraf Hakimi from Paris Saint Germain, Soufiane Rahimi from Al-Aïn, and Mounir El Kajoui from RS Berkane.
In the Paris Olympics, the national team will first face Argentina on July 24 at Stade Geoffroy-Guichard in Saint-Étienne, followed by Ukraine on the 27 at the same stadium, and Iraq on July 30 at Allianz Riviera in Nice.
