Scotland’s Rangers Football Club on Friday announced the signing of Moroccan forward Hamza Igamane from AS FAR Rabat, on a long-term deal, subject to international clearance.
The 21-year-old forward becomes Philippe Clement’s seventh addition of the summer transfer window following Mohamed Diomande, Jefte, Oscar Cortes, Clinton Nsiala, Connor Barron and Liam Kelly.
“I’m very proud to be joining Rangers, and I can’t wait to start working with my team-mates,” Igamane was quoted as saying in a Rangers press release.
“It is a huge club, with a loyal fanbase and a lot of history. I am excited for my future here and looking forward to being a part of this club,” he added.
For his part, Rangers manager Philippe Clement said he was delighted to welcome the striker to Rangers, saying he would be “a great asset” to the team.
Igamane has “a lot of talent and potential,” the Belgian coach underlined, adding that the player will bring a fresh presence to Glasgow club’s attacking options.
Igamane, who represented Morocco at under-23 level, has spent his entire professional career thus far with AS FAR in his homeland, having come through their youth academy before breaking into the first-team in recent years.
