Fes public prosecutor’s office announced on Monday that a Moroccan national, currently residing in Belgium, is under suspicion of disrupting a flight by fabricating the presence of an explosive device, a press release read.
This person was scheduled to fly from Fes Saiss Airport to Belgium on Saturday. Leading up to the incident, the Moroccan man was concerned about missing his flight, so he allegedly contacted the relevant authorities to report the presence of a bomb on the plane.
The prosecutor determined to pursue legal action against the 50-year-old suspect, currently incarcerated at Bourkaiz prison, for making a false bomb report and jeopardizing the safety of the plane.
The first hearing of his trial is scheduled for next Monday.
