Houcine Sabahi, a cyclist representing Club Boughaz Tangier, won the Moroccan Road Cycling Championships, held Sunday in Ifrane.
He defeated two-time champion Achraf Ed-Doghmi, representing Kawkab Marrakech club.
Sabahi crossed the finish line of the 169.8km event in 4 hours, 4 minutes and 38 seconds. He was followed by Oussama Khafi (Faucons du Sahara Laayoune Club), who finished in 4 hours, 4 minutes, and 49 seconds, and Ibrahim Sahabi (Club Boughaz of Tangier), with the same clocking.
The U23 individual title was awarded to Ibrahim Sabahi (4h4’49”), followed by Idriss Alouani (Ismailia of Meknes) with a time of 4h11’55” and Salah Fakir representing Khouribga’s cycling club.
The winner of the junior category was Marouane Kharbouchi (Kawkab Marrakech club), who completed the 84.9 km distance in 2h16’16”, marking his second victory, after winning the time trial last Friday.
The final day of the championships, held by the International Cycling Union, brought together 197 senior riders, 99 juniors, and 41 U23 riders.
