Airbus announced that it has achieved a deal with Spirit AeroSystems to potentially acquire large Airbus businesses in several countries around the world, including Morocco, in a press release published on Monday.
Airbus will take over manufacturing of the A220’s wings and mid-fuselage in Belfast, Northern Ireland, and Casablanca, Morocco, according to an Airbus statement.
This arrangement also includes the construction of A220 pylons in Kansas and A350 fuselage pieces at sites in Kinston and St Nazaire, France.
The aerospace business emphasized that the deal aims to provide supply security for its commercial aircraft programs by establishing a “more sustainable way forward both operationally and financially” for several Airbus work packages for which Spirit AeroSystems is now responsible.
Under the terms of the deal, Spirit AeroSystems will pay Airbus 559 Mln dollars.
