The “YallaVamos2030” committee, which represents Morocco, Portugal and Spain’s joint bid for the 2030 FIFA World Cup, announced that no final decision has been made on the number of stadiums, geographical distribution, or match allocation by country, the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) said.
The FRMF reiterated in a statement released following the committee meeting held on June 27-28 in Agadir that all official communications regarding these matters will be conducted through the official channels.
The gathering was held to assess the potential host sites for the world’s largest football event and to finalize the details before the submission of the joint bid ─ scheduled for the end of July.
At the start of the two-day meeting, representatives from the bid committees visited several key sites in Agadir, including the city’s main stadium.
They also evaluated possible locations for the “FIFA Fan Festival,” with Agadir’s iconic beach being a primary option.
The seaside resort of Taghazout was also considered as a potential location for team base camps.
On the following day, an online meeting was held with representatives of FIFA to discuss the bidding process and its status. Subsequently, working sessions were held with the tripartite steering committee to review various aspects and finalize adjustments to the bid form.
The FRMF expressed satisfaction with the quality of inter-stakeholder collaboration and reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with FIFA and local authorities in the three countries to present a strong final bid for the 2030 World Cup.
