The Football Club Barcelona (FCB) Futsal team announced the return of 26-year-old Moroccan player Khalid Bouzid for a two-year contract, who has been with the Colombian Industrias Santa Coloma for the past five seasons, announced the club in a release on Friday.
Bouzid played for the first time with the Blaugrana at the age of 15, with whom he won two La Liga U19 championships (2015 and 2017) and La Liga B with the reserve team (2016/2017).
In the summer of 2019, he left for Industrias Santa Coloma to make his debut in Serie A League. In five seasons at the Colombian club, he gained a lot of experience, scoring 19 goals in 26 games last season, and participated in the World Cup in Lithuania in 2021 with Morocco.
The Moroccan international expressed joy coming back home saying “I have improved a lot in defense in recent years and this was a determining aspect to be able to play in a big team like Barça, I can’t express the joy I feel because I am a culer, I am very grateful for the opportunity that I have the Club offers and I am convinced that I will take advantage of it, I accept the challenge and I will succeed.”
Bouzid remains one of team leader Hicham Dguig’s key men. He has already played in the World Cup with the Atlas Lions (Lithuania 2021) and is on the list of players for the national team, which is preparing to play in the World Cup scheduled to take place between September 14 and October 6, 2024, in Uzbekistan.
The national team, currently in training at the Mohammed VI Football complex, have celebrated Bouzid’s transfer to the Catalan club.
