Morocco and Sierra Leone have joined the African Solidarity Fund (ASF), raising the total number of member nations to 25, Côte D’Ivoire Minister of Economy Kaba Nialé announced during the ASF Board of Governors’ third regular session in Abidjan.
Having the two new members strengthens relations among African countries. “The ASF is today a strong institution that is growing and expanding, and we are supporting its evolution so that it can embrace all African countries,” the Minister underlined.
Six other countries have expressed their desire to join the ASF. The fund’s Managing Director, Abdourahmane Diallo, is hoping to speed up their membership.
The ASF made a profit of 2.2 billion Francs CFA, the equivalent of about 35,773,100 MAD in 2023.
