The Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) urged the international community to join efforts to support refugees worldwide and ensure their access to all fundamental rights, including economic, social and cultural inclusion.
Celebrating World Refugee Day, ICESCO highlighted the need to “provide these vulnerable groups with fair and comprehensive education and employment opportunities suited to their skills to preserve their dignity”.
ICESCO also said that it launched medical-social-educational caravans to provide essential social and medical assistance both inside and outside the Islamic world, particularly in rural and remote areas. These caravans also offer mobile medical services, including medical consultations, check-ups, vaccinations, and basic medicines as well as organizing community outreach programs.
The organization highlighted the key role of education in breaking the cycle of poverty, noting the launch of a scholarship program for students from vulnerable groups to pursue higher education.
ICESCO reaffirmed its commitment to creating a future that allows everyone, including the most vulnerable, to achieve success and prosperity.
It also called for joining efforts to end the suffering of refugees and honor their resilience and courage.
