Morocco climbed one place in FIFA’s latest rankings, securing the 12th spot, ahead of all African and Arab teams with an overall score of 1,669.44 points.
The Moroccan squad surpassed Senegal which ranked 18th, Qatar in 35th place, Egypt in 36th, and Côte d’Ivoire in 37th.
Argentina (1,860.14), France (1,837.47), and Belgium ( 1,797.98) held the top three spots in the rankings, followed respectively by Brazil, England, the Netherlands, Spain and Croatia.
Morocco’s national team thrashed Congo Brazzaville 6-0 on June 11 at Agadir’s Adrar Stadium, securing three points in the FIFA World Cup 2026 African qualifiers.
The Atlas Lions also beat Zambia 2-1 in the 3rd day of Group E of the African 2026 World Cup qualifiers as they made a successful start to the tournament against Tanzania (2-0) in November 2023.
