More than 600 artists will perform at the 53rd edition of the National Festival of Popular Arts (FNAP), which will take place on July 04-08 in Marrakech.
China will be the Guest of Honor of this year’s edition themed “Rhythms and Eternal Symbols”, according to organizers.
This cultural and artistic event has been initiated by the Grand Atlas association in partnership with the Ministry of Culture.
This major event, designed to highlight the diversity and richness of Morocco’s artistic heritage, aims to strengthen links between generations by familiarizing young people with the treasures of Moroccan folk art through spellbinding performances. The FNAP offers an exceptional showcase for indigenous talent and its teeming creativity.
This year’s event will be themed “Rhythms and eternal symbols” along a 3 km route from Place 16 Novembre to the Théâtre Royal, via Avenue Mohammed V, Avenue Moulay El Hassan and Boulevard Mohammed VI.
The various performance sites are the majestic Bahia Palace, which will host the Stars evening like Moroccan singer Nouamane Lahlou, the main shows will take place at the Théâtre Royal, the Place du Harti and finally the famous Jemaa el Fna Square.
The event will bring together horse-drawn carriages and feature creations by over 60 troupes paying tribute to the popular arts of Morocco and their greatest Maâlems, as well as foreign troupes from countries such as China and Burkina-Faso.
