The first ship carrying around 220 Moroccans living abroad and 64 vehicles arrived in the northern port of Al Hoceima on Saturday, as part of the “Marhaba 2024” operation.
The trip, onboard a 1,500-passenger and 300-vehicle vessel from the port of Motril (Spain) to Al Hoceima, coincided with the eve of Eid Al-Adha (sacrifice feast), an occasion that many Moroccans from around the world are keen to celebrate in the Kingdom with their families.
All the necessary measures have been taken at the port of Al Hoceima, to guarantee the success of this edition and promote passenger comfort, Adil El Bardi, Director of the Port of Al Hoceima, told the press.
A series of measures have been taken to facilitate the crossing for people with special needs and the elderly, by providing them with all the logistical means and human resources to help them onboard the ship and at the reception and crossing points.
A major movement of Moroccans living abroad is expected in the coming days, coinciding with the start of school vacations, with a high-capacity ship being mobilized to operate the Al Hoceima-Motril shipping route.
