Beach Soccer: Morocco to Face Angola in AFCON Qualifiers

Morocco’s national beach soccer team, two-time bronze medalists, will face Angola in a two-legged play-off for the 2024 Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) to be held in Egypt, according to the African Football Confederation (CAF) .

In the qualifiers, there will be 14 teams, featuring home and away matches to determine the seven teams that will join hosts Egypt in the final tournament this summer.

The first leg of the qualifiers will be played on July 19-21, with the second leg scheduled for July 26-28.

The national team will play the first leg in Angola and the second leg will be played in Morocco.

“Reigning African champions Senegal will kick off the qualifiers against Guinea who are earmarking a first CAF Beach Soccer AFCON appearance,” CAF noted.

The last AFCON Beach Soccer tournament was held in Mozambique in 2022, in which Senegal won the title for the fourth time in a row.
