The World Economic Forum’s annual report on Gender Gap ranked Morocco 137th place out of 146,down one place on last year, and 12th in the MENA region, in its annual report on Gender Gap published recently.
In the sub-indices ranking, the Kingdom ranks 90th in the world for Political Empowerment.
In terms of educational attainment, the country slipped from 115th to 118th place in a single year.
When it comes to Economic Participation and Opportunity, Morocco remained 114th.
In terms of Health and Survival, the country dropped one point to 131st in the globe.
The majority of gender gap scores on this metric fall below 65%, with some as low as 20.1%, as in Iran. However, women’s labor-market representation is shifting. Gender parity in technical and professional professions exceeds 70% in seven countries, including Morocco.
On the Worldwide top five, Iceland leads the list, followed by Finland, and Norway, while New Zealand came fourth and Sweden wraps up the list.
