Morocco’s national police on Wednesday seized 1,000 psychotropic pills and arrested two individuals in Salé, twin city of Rabat, on suspicion of drug trafficking, according to security sources.
The two suspects, aged between 23 and 29, were arrested aboard a car at a checkpoint at the entrance of Salé.
Police seized a significant quantity of “ecstasy” pills, along with multiple doses of cocaine and a sum of money believed to be proceeds from criminal activities.
Ecstasy, also known as MDMA, is a synthetic drug with stimulant and hallucinogenic properties. Due to the illicit nature of its production, the composition of ecstasy varies considerably, as does its appearance. The pills are often decorated with logos and resemble candy.
