The official Moroccan pilgrimage delegation arrived in Jeddah on Monday to perform Hajj for the year 1445 Hegira corresponding to 2024. Morocco’s Minister of Industry and Commerce Ryad Mezzour led the delegation.
Moroccan Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Mustafa Mansouri and Consul General in Jeddah, Abdelilah Oudadas received the delegation at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah.
Mezzour told the press that “he was honored by the trust placed in him by King Mohammed VI, who had entrusted him with leading the official delegation to the Holy Sites of Islam as well as providing assistance and support to Moroccan pilgrims in carrying out their rite in complete serenity.”
In a message read by Minister of Endowments and Islamic Affairs Ahmed Toufiq, the monarch urged the pilgrims to represent their country with integrity and observe Islamic values during the holy trip.
This year, 34,000 Moroccan pilgrims are performing Hajj, with 22,500 managed by the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, and 11,500 supervised by travel agencies.
During the pilgrimage, 738 administrators, Ulema (body of Muslim scholars), doctors, and media professionals, including 520 escorts and supervisors, are also mobilized to assist the pilgrims during their stay.
