Morocco’s Red City, Marrakech, has been named one of the top 20 cities in the world for gastronomy by the British magazine Time Out.
The list, published by CNN, named “These are the world’s 20 best cities for foodies, according to Time Out” ranks the cities based on their culinary offerings and cultural attractions.
The Red City ranked 15th on the list, behind Naples (1), Johannesburg (2), Lima (3), Ho Chi Minh City (4), Beijing (5), Bangkok (6), Kuala Lumpur (7), Mumbai (8), Dubai (9) and Portland.
Liverpool, Medellín, Seville, Porto, Lyon, Sydney, Montreal, Osaka and Copenhagen round out the top 20.
CNN Travel quoted Grace Beard, Time Out’s travel editor, saying: “Food is everything when traveling.”
“A good (or bad) meal can make or break a trip – it’s usually one of the things we remember most,” Beard added.
