National Police (DGSN) officers, in collaboration with customs at Tangier-Med crossing in northeastern Morocco, on Friday arrested a 28-year-old suspect for the possession and attempted smuggling of 196 kilograms of cannabis (locally known as Chira), according to security sources.
During this operation, the illicit drugs were meticulously concealed in the truck’s steel frame and fuel tank. The illegal substance was transported along with agricultural goods intended for export.
The vehicle driver, of Moroccan nationality, is now in custody pending further investigation under the supervision of the prosecutor’s office.
