In his latest music video, American rap star French Montana, born Karim Kharbouch in Casablanca, pays tribute to his Moroccan roots by proudly wearing the Moroccan football team “Atlas Lions” jersey showcasing his strong connection to his homeland.
Entitled “Casino Life,” the video has already amassed over half a million views on YouTube (570k). It features visuals from Morocco, including Dar Al-Dabagh in Fez and its craftsmen.
Montana’s lyrics underscore his North African roots and aspiration to enhance Morocco’s global visibility. This is a common theme in his work and personal life as he frequently visits Morocco and shares content that highlights its culture on his social networks, including Instagram, where he has around 40 million followers.
The recently released song, part of the “Mac & Cheese 5” album, also pays tribute to the artist’s Moroccan roots. The cover features an image of the 39-years old rapper illuminated by a green star and a red background influenced by the Moroccan flag.
In addition to his musical contributions, Montana has demonstrated his dedication to Morocco through significant philanthropic efforts. At a recent sold-out concert in Casablanca, he donated all proceeds to the victims of the Al Haouz earthquake, providing substantial financial support to those affected by the disaster.
