Brazil, represented by its Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira, commended Morocco’s “serious” and “credible” efforts to settle the Sahara issue, based on the Moroccan Autonomy Plan, introduced by the Kingdom in 2007.
Vieira, on his first official visit to Morocco, expressed this position in a Joint Communiqué adopted at the end of his talks, Friday, with Morocco’s Foreign Minister, Nasser Bourita.
The Brazilian top diplomate also reiterated his country’s long-standing support for the UN-led process for a just, lasting and mutually acceptable political solution to the Moroccan Sahara issue.
