Morocco’s Minister of Transport and Logistics, Mohammed Abdeljalil, reaffirmed, Tuesday in Berlin, the kingdom’s commitment against climate change.
Speaking via video conference at the 2nd International e-fuels dialogue, the minister said that in addition to Morocco’s national actions and its efforts to control emissions, the Kingdom is willing to be part of the global solution in the battle against climate change thanks to its natural resources and strategic geographic position.
“Morocco began developing renewable wind and solar energy a long time ago, and possesses today a very strong expertise in this field”, Abdeljalil added.
He also highlighted the importance of enhancing multilateral cooperation for a successful energy transition in the transport section all over the world.
The minister underscored the need to consider each country’s development specificities, adding that “it would be regrettable to have advanced industrial countries achieve zero emissions of greenhouse gas effects, whereas developing countries continue to lag.”
On a concluding note, he said that “the world also needs the growth of these countries to be sustainable to fulfill the necessary goals to face global warming”.
