Emirati airline, Etihad Airways, and Morocco’s air carrier, Royal Air Maroc (RAM) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen their commercial and operational relations, on Monday, in Abu Dhabi, according to a press release.
The partnership agreement exemplifies the dedication of both airlines to enhance collaboration efforts. It will enable travelers to benefit from a “wider range of options,” “superior service,” and “added value” while promoting “sustainable aviation.”
The MoU encompasses a multitude of operations, according to Antonoaldo Neves, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Etihad Airways. The partnership includes “exploring prospective expansions of current codeshare agreements, which will expand domestic routes throughout Morocco and Africa.”
Neves also noted that the deal covers details of potential collaborations “in the areas of ground handling, maintenance, and engineering,” as well as the “advancement of existing frequent flyer program collaborations.”
RAM’s CEO, Abdelhamid Addou, expressed pride in “the significant partnership” with Etihad, which he believes aligns with the Moroccan company’s goals of “improving connectivity and continuing to provide passengers with a more optimized and seamless travel experience.”
