Under the Presidency of King Mohammed VI, the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity on Wednesday will launch the 24th edition of the Marhaba Operation to welcome Moroccans living abroad.
Held annually from June 5 to September 15, this large-scale welcome program will take place simultaneously in Morocco, France, Spain and Italy, according to a press release of the Foundation.
A platform to provide support and assistance to members of the Moroccan community living abroad during the arrival and departure times during the summer, this program is integrated with all the services and measures put in place by the various stakeholders involved in the implementation of this operation.
The Foundation has activated the 24 Marhaba Reception Sites where social assistance and medical care services are provided.
Eighteen areas are operational in Morocco. They are located in the ports of Tanger Med, Tanger Ville, Al Hoceima and Nador, in the airports of Casablanca Mohammed V, Rabat – Salé, Oujda Angad, Nador, Agadir Al Massira, Fès Saïss, Marrakech Menara and Tanger Ibn Battouta, in the Mediterranean, Jebha, Tazaghine and Smir M’Diq Rest Areas as well as at the Bab Sebta and Mellilia border crossings.
Abroad, six Marhaba areas are located at the European ports of Genoa (Italy), Sète and Marseille (France), Motril, Almeria and Algeciras (Spain).
The humanitarian services available in the Marhaba sites are supplemented by the Central Coordination Office (BCC), which is based in Rabat and is supervised by the Foundation. The BCC provides Marhaba telephone assistance, monitors the daily activity of the operation and ensures that requests are properly handled.
The Marhaba Telephone Assistance is available 7 days a week and 24 hours a day during the operation and can be reached at the following telephone numbers: 00 212 537 20 5566 and 00 212 537 20 6666 for calls from abroad, the free toll-free number 080 000 23 23 and 08086 907 93 accessible from the Kingdom, the number 00 39 35 1212 94 89 (Genoa) for Italy, the numbers 00 33 780 716 093 (Marseille) and 00 33 617 299 161 (Sète) for France, and the numbers 00 34 631 669 433 (Motril), 00 34 632 508 290 (Almeria) and 00 34 632 540 700 (Algeciras) for Spain.
A total workforce of one thousand four hundred (1400) people is mobilized throughout the operation, including Foundation executives, social workers, doctors, paramedical staff as well as volunteers, who are deployed to listen to Moroccans living abroad, assist them and provide them with support and assistance.
