Abdellatif Hammouchi, Head of Morocco’s National Police (DGSN) and of Territory Surveillance Services (DGST), held bilateral talks for cooperation with the Director General of Italian Public Security, Vittorio Pisani, who is leading an important delegation on a working visit to the Kingdom, according to security sources.
The meeting held on Monday in Rabat provided an opportunity to assess the status of cooperation and examine ways to enhance collaboration across multiple security areas related to cross-border crime. This included human and drug trafficking, illegal migration, money laundering, and the proceeds of criminal activities.
The officials conducted an in-depth examination of shared interests, driven by their strong desire for cooperation. The pair also identified emerging risks and obstacles and developed collaborative strategies. Furthermore, they shared a mutual agreement to exchange expertise and technical assistance.
Morocco is leading in “enhancing international security cooperation with friendly countries to neutralize terrorist threats and combat the various forms of transnational crime,” concluded the source.
