The death toll resulting from an incident of alcohol poisoning in Sidi Allal Tazi, located in northwestern Morocco, on Monday, has risen from three to 11. Meanwhile, the number of individuals in critical condition has climbed to 68, according to security sources.
Three individuals are under suspicion in this incident. Two of them are currently receiving medical treatment at the hospital, while the third remains in police custody.
The suspects are thought to be involved in the production and distribution of poisonous substances that jeopardize public health and have killed 11 individuals so far.
The relevant authorities opened a judicial investigation, under the supervision of the public prosecutor’s office, to investigate the circumstances surrounding this case and the connections between the deaths recorded and the products consumed. In addition, the authorities are looking to proceed with the arrest of all those involved in this case.
