Morocco’s national airline, Royal Air Maroc (RAM), and Morocco’s financial arm, the Caisse de Dépôt et de Gestion (CDG) have signed a partnership agreement to boost innovation in the TravelTech sector in Morocco.
The partnership will support TravelTech start-ups operating in Morocco or founded by Moroccans abroad as well as promote the development of Moroccan TravelTech.
RAM CEO Hamid Addou; CDG CEO Khalid Safir; the Head of the International University of Rabat (UIR) Noureddine Mouaddib; and CEO of CDG Invest Yassine Abderrazik Haddaoui attended the signing ceremony at RAM’s headquarters.
Concluded as part of the Gitex Africa Morocco exhibition and conference, which runs from May 29 to 31, 2024, in Marrakech, the agreement will also facilitate development of innovative solutions to meet the needs of the tourism sector, according to a joint press release of RAM and the CDG Group.
The signatories will join efforts to support and strengthen the innovation programs of each party, by facilitating access to markets and the purchase of TravelTech solutions and products, while also promoting investment in Moroccan startups operating in this sector.
“We are proud today to lay the foundation for a dynamic Moroccan TravelTech ecosystem,” Addou said. “RAM will provide its full support to this exceptional partnership, particularly by enhancing and adapting its digital innovation support programs.” Addou added that the synergies among several public institutions will “accelerate Morocco’s digital transformation and bolster the strength of RAM in preparation for the 2030 FIFA World Cup.”
