Holders of Moroccan passports, along with several other countries, will be able to enter Thailand visa-free for 60 days beginning June 1, Thai government spokesperson Chai Wacharonke announced, local outlet “TheThaiger” reported on Tuesday, quoting “Asean Now.”
Thailand has expanded the list of nations whose nationals can enter Thailand for 60 days without a visa to include Albania, Cambodia, China, India, Jamaica, Kazakhstan, Laos, Mexico, Panama, Romania, Sri Lanka, and Uzbekistan.
Wacharonke stated, “The Foreign Ministry suggested these actions due to the country’s significant reliance on tourism.”
He added “Tourists wishing to work and sightsee can now be issued five-year visas for stays that last up to 180 days, which can be extended for another 180 days.”
The new regulations are intended for freelancers, digital nomads, remote workers, and anybody curious about learning Muay Thai and Thai cooking.
Previously, Moroccans were only authorized to stay in the country for two 30-day periods each.
