Senegal’s Minister of African Integration and Foreign Affairs Yacine Fall reaffirmed Senegal’s “constant and firm” support for Morocco’s territorial integrity and sovereignty over the Moroccan Sahara on Monday.
This came in a joint press release issued after a meeting with Morocco’s Foreign Affairs Minister Nasser Bourita during Fall’s first visit to Morocco since her appointment as Senegal’s Foreign Minister.
The Senegalese top official reaffirmed her country’s full support for Morocco’s autonomy plan, calling it the only “credible and realistic” resolution for the Sahara dispute.
She also applauded the efforts of the United Nations toward achieving a realistic, practical, and sustainable resolution.
Senegal opened a consulate in Dakhla on April 5, 2021, reflecting its strong commitment to strengthening bilateral relations with Morocco.
