Morocco’s national carrier, Royal Air Maroc (RAM), will launch a new direct flight connecting Casablanca and Nigeria’s capital, Abuja, according to MAP.
The route will operate three times a week (Tuesday, Friday, and Sunday) starting June 23. During a ceremony in Abuja, RAM representatives met with major travel agencies and corporate partners in Nigeria.
Morocco’s Ambassador to Nigeria, Mouha Ouali Tagma, said that the new route will bolster the Morocco-Nigeria relationship, streamlining travel between Casablanca and Abuja to just a few hours. “This new route between Abuja and Casablanca is not just an itinerary, but an important milestone in RAM’s journey, reinforcing its commitment to connecting Africa,” a RAM spokesperson said.
“We offer comfortable and reliable connections to Morocco and beyond, catering to travelers seeking business opportunities, cultural exchanges, or tourist experiences,” he noted. “The Abuja-Casablanca route will contribute significantly to economic growth, cultural exchange, and stronger ties between our two countries.”
This announcement comes on the heels of RAM’s blueprint for an ambitious expansion strategy earlier this year, aiming to evolve from a medium-sized carrier to a global entity with an extensive route network and an expanded fleet.
