Prominent journalist at Medi1 Radio, Abdessadak Benissa, passed away on Sunday in Tangier at the age of 63 after a prolonged illness.
All Moroccan media mourn the loss of one of its iconic voices. Benissa made a lasting imprint on Moroccan radio history through his unique storytelling style, perhaps most notably with respect to the popular “Milafat Boulissia” (crime stories) series aired on Medi1 Radio.
The station expressed deep sorrow at the passing of Abdessadak Benissa, a respected journalist with a rich legacy at Radio Mediterranean International who has significantly influenced Moroccan and Arab media.
Benissa began his journey at Medi1 Radio in 1981, where he played an instrumental role in producing and presenting news bulletins before rising to the position of editor-in-chief.
He also led the successful launch of various radio shows, including “Lahadat Mina Tarikh” (Moments from History), “Milafat Boulissia” (crime stories), “Hariboun” (fugitives), and “Wojouh Mina Dil” (shadows of figures).
