Sweltering heat is forecast to hit several regions of Morocco starting Tuesday, with temperatures soaring as high as 42°C in some areas, according to an orange alert weather bulletin issued by the Meteorological Agency (DGM).
It will be extremely hot in Zagora, Tata, Kelaa Sraghna, Beni Mellal, Fquih Ben Salah, and Errachidia from Tuesday onwards, with temperatures reaching 37 to 40°C.
Weather forecasts indicate a significant rise in temperatures on Wednesday, with fairly warm to hot weather expected over the northern and central lowlands, the southeast, the east, and the far south of the country.
Provinces bracing for the heatwave from Wednesday to Thursday (between 37 and 42 degrees Celsius) include Beni Mellal, Fquih Ben Salah, Meknes, El Hajeb, Errachidia, Khenifra, Fes, Sefrou, Moulay Yacoub, Azilal, Ouazzane, Khemisset, Rehamna, Tata, Zagora, Kenitra, Sidi Kacem, Sidi Slimane, Khouribga, Settat, Al Haouz, Kelaa Sraghna, Marrakech, Taounate, Laarach and Chefchaouen.
