Morocco’s national futsal team was placed in Group E for the 2024 Futsal World Cup that will take place from September 14 to October 6, according to the draw held in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, on Sunday.
The Atlas Lions will compete against defending champions Portugal, Panama, and Tajikistan. Uzbekistan, the host nation, has been drawn in Group A along with the Netherlands, Paraguay, and Costa Rica.
Group B includes Brazil, Cuba, Croatia, and Thailand, while Group C features Argentina, Ukraine, Afghanistan, and Angola.
Group D is comprised of the following teams: Spain, Kazakhstan, New Zealand, and Libya. Group F is comprised of Iran, Venezuela, Guatemala, and France.
Morocco, a quarter-finalist in the previous World Cup and a three-time African Cup of Nations champion, will represent the African continent along with Angola and Libya.
The tournament’s matches are scheduled to be held in the cities of Tashkent, Andijan, and Bukhara.
