Moroccan international Soufiane Rahimi, named top scorer, delivered a remarkable performance in the Asian Champions League second leg of the final with his Emirati club Al Aïn, scoring two goals against Japan’s Yokohama and securing the title.
In a highly anticipated match at Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium yesterday, Soufiane Rahimi scored the first goal for his team in the 8th minute. His teammate Kaku then converted a penalty in the 33rd minute.
In the second half, the Atlas Lion scored again in the 67th minute, completing a remontada 5-1, from their 2-1 first-leg loss in Japan.
Rahimi, who netted 13 goals in the Asian Champions League this season, claimed the competition’s top scorer trophy.
Thanks to the Moroccan footballer, Al Aïn won the trophy for the second time since 2003.
