Abdelilah Benkirane, Secretary General of Morocco’s Justice and Development Party (PJD, opposition) and former Head of Government, commended Morocco’s primary security institutions, the National Police (DGSN) and Territorial Surveillance services (DGST), for their pivotal role in fostering peace and combating crime, particularly terrorism, in a live broadcast on Saturday evening.
In light of the success of the DGSN-DGST recent open house held in Agadir from May 17–21, Benkirane noted the positive change that the security bodies have undergone, explaining that this change is evident in the policy shift towards a more citizen-centered approach.
After a record-breaking influx of over two million visitors, the former Prime Minister expressed satisfaction with the institutions’ achievements and the event’s success, citing also the gratitude among the Moroccan people, as indicated by the substantial turnout.
