Morocco’s National Tourism Office (ONMT) has signed a five-year partnership for the first time with global travel platform giant TripAdvisor to gradually increase overnight stays in Morocco.
The agreement signed by the Director General of ONMT, Adel El Fakir, and TripAdvisor’s CEO Matt Goldberg includes specific yearly goals over the next ten tourist seasons from summer 2024 to winter 2029, ONMT said in a press release. Their collaboration will boost tourism in Morocco using the capabilities of the platform.
Under the agreement, the number of overnight stays booked through the TripAdvisor platform in Morocco is expected to double by the end of the fifth year, with a steady annual growth rate of 15%. Currently at 2.6 million, overnight stays are anticipated to rise to 5.3 million by 2029.
Key target markets include France, the United Kingdom, the Iberian market, North America, the Nordic countries, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Ireland, and the Gulf countries, with the possibility of expanding to new markets in the upcoming seasons.
The partnership will enhance Morocco’s destination positioning through a focused marketing campaign involving content creation, influencer marketing, awareness campaigns, conversion campaigns, and maximizing the commercial impact of TripAdvisor’s platform.
With its vast reach of over 436 million unique monthly visitors, 20 million registered members, and a wealth of reviews and opinions, TripAdvisor significantly influences the travel community, market demand, and customer satisfaction ratings.
Under Morocco’s “Light in Action” campaign, ONMT is teaming up with global tourism leaders to amplify globally the visibility and reputation of the Moroccan brand.
