Morocco’s National Police (DGSN) inaugurated its new security district headquarters on Saturday in Es-Semara, a city in the Moroccan Sahara region, during celebrations commemorating the 68th anniversary of DGSN and Morocco’s Territorial Surveillance agency (DGST).
Spanning an area of 5,060 m², 4,530 m² of which is covered, the new facility is expected to improve Morocco’s security apparatus in the region, bringing police services closer to citizens and enhancing working conditions for employees and users.
“The inauguration of the new headquarters represents the DGSN’s commitment to modernizing and upgrading its police facilities and equipment to meet citizens’ expectations,” Abou Dahab, Chief of the Laayoune Police, stated.
“The newly opened site features several police departments, including the judicial police, secret services, and public security, along with logistical and other technical resources,” he added.
Key dignitaries attended the opening ceremony, including Abdeslam Bekrate, Governor of Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra region; Hamid Naimi, Governor of Laayoune; Hassan Abou Dahab, Prefect of Police of Laayoune, as well as a host of diplomatic, military and civil representatives.
