A fine cast will be featured in the five-part “Atomic” series–to be shot in Morocco this month–reported the British Televisual magazine on Thursday, as the series follows the “Game of Thrones,” “Gladiator,” and “Prison Break” trajectories.
Directed by Shariff Korver, written by Gregory Burke, and inspired by the book “Atomic Bazaar” by Vanity Fair journalist William Langewiesche, the series will gather Alfie Allen, best known for his role as Theon Greyjoy in the TV series “Game of Thrones,” Shazad Latif, who plays Ash Tyler in the CBS series “Star Trek: Discovery,” and actress Samira Wiley, best known for her roles in “The Handmaid’s Tale” and “Orange is the New Black,” all under one screen.
The series follows the adventures of Max (Alfie Allen), a drug dealer, and Mohammed (Shazad Latif), a man haunted by his past and on the run from those determined to kill him, as he hides out in North Africa.
The plot involves two men bound together by an unlikely friendship who find themselves drawn into a vast plot hatched by a Venezuelan cartel to transport uranium across North Africa. They are pursued at the same time by Cassie Elliott (Samira Wiley), a CIA agent, as the two are faced with a difficult decision: Go on the run or risk everything to prevent a nuclear disaster.
