Chief of Interpol Ahmed Naser Al Raisi commended Morocco’s leadership in international security cooperation on Thursday during the celebration of the 68th anniversary of the establishment of the DGSN in Agadir.
In a statement to the press, the Interpol Chief highlighted the importance of Morocco’s efforts and contribution to achieving global security, calling Morocco’s achievements a “distinctive mark on the world as a whole.”
Al Raisi noted Morocco’s participation in more than ten projects under the auspices of Interpol, and over 20 high-profile security operations worldwide. He added that Morocco’s unanimous selection to host the 93rd General Assembly in 2025 in Marrakech demonstrates the Kingdom’s leadership and the confidence it enjoys globally.
The 5th national police (DGSN) Open Days expo kicked off on Friday and will run until May 21 in Agadir under the banner “National Police: Citizenship, Responsibility, and Solidarity.” The event celebrates the DGSN 68th anniversary.
The expo is designed to enhance public awareness by educating the public about the various missions of different DGSN units and formations and showcase its advanced equipment to ensure the safety of individuals and properties and maintain public order.
DGSN held last year’s edition on May 17-21 in Fez under the slogan “67 years of ongoing modernization of citizen-centered public service.”
The 4th Open Days featured 30 pavilions showcasing the police’s diverse security services offered to enforce the law, investigate crimes, and protect victims. This year, multiple booths are showcasing forensic investigation of counterfeiting, composite sketches, armored vehicles, a women’s safety drop-in center, IT and mobile units, facial recognition, cybercrimes, and special forces.
