Head of Morocco’s National Police (DGSN) and of Territory Surveillance Services (DGST), Abdellatif Hammouchi, signed an agreement with President of the Board of Directors of Al Omrane Group, Housni El Ghazaoui, and Governor of the Souss Massa region Saaïd Amzazi today regarding the allocation of a real estate space for the construction of the new headquarters of Agadir’s Police Prefecture.
This agreement allocates approximately four hectares of land for public facilities for the new headquarters’ construction. The building works will be undertaken according to standards and specifications that will improve the aesthetic character for users of the facility.
The future facility is meant to enhance security services provided to citizens, and to improve working conditions for police officers in a manner which enables them to carry out their duties optimally.
This agreement will determine the conditions and obligations of the State Property Directorate’s acquisition process and will enable the initiation of studies for the implementation of the project, which looks to rehabilitate police buildings.
The project comprises part of the strategy of the DGSN to modernize security buildings in various Moroccan cities and to rehabilitate police facilities to meet Moroccan citizens’ standards of quality.
Recently, the DGSN launched a comprehensive project to renew security facilities, which includes the construction of the new headquarters of the police services unit in Rabat, which is nearing completion.
The initiative also encompasses the headquarters building for the National Brigade of Judicial Police, the National Laboratory of Forensic Science in Casablanca, and the security prefectures of Oujda, Meknes, along with other new security facilities.
