The Moroccan U17 women’s team delegation headed to the Algerian capital on Wednesday to compete for the qualification of the U17-2024 Women’s World Cup, scheduled to take place in the Dominican Republic from October 16 to November 3.
The team is set to play the return leg match against their Algerian counterparts as part of the third round of African qualifiers for the World Cup.
The Moroccan squad departed from Angads Airport in Oujda on a direct flight to Houari Boumediene Airport in the Algerian capital.
The Atlas Lionesses will have two training sessions in Algeria for the return leg on May 17 at the Salem Mabrouki stadium in Algiers, at 5:30 P.M. (GMT +1).
The Moroccan U17 women’s team defeated the Algerian team (4-0) on May 10 at Berkane’s Municipal Stadium.
Inès Aboucharif scored the first goal in the 32nd minute, followed by Dina Haizoun in the 41st and Ouafae Bentahri in the 51st. The Algerian team unwittingly scored upon itself in the 58th minute.
The U-17 women’s national team dominated Niger with an 11-0 trouncing in the first leg of the qualifiers.
