The International Association of Golf Tour Operators (IAGTO) named Morocco “best African golf tourism destination for the year 2024” on Tuesday at its European Convention held in Malaga, according to MAP.
More than 750 delegates from Europe and other destinations are participating in the annual event, which runs from May 13-15 and serves as a major pillar of the global golf tourism industry.
Morocco’s recognition as the best African golf tourism destination came after 660 tour operators evaluated performances, analyzed the Q1 data of 2024, and measured the satisfaction of their clients in golf tourism.
The honor reflects the joint efforts of the Royal Moroccan Golf Federation (FRMG) and the Morocco’s national tourism office (ONMT) which have worked together to promote the sustainability of golf courses, enhance travelers’ experiences, and support golf tourism.
As part of ONMT’s “Light in Action” plan, the office also forged a partnership with the global giant Netflix to promote golf in Morocco globally and establish the “Morocco, Land of Light” brand.
