The Moroccan Prison Administration (DGAPR) and the organization Tibu Africa renewed their partnership agreement in a meeting held in Rabat on Friday at the headquarters of DGAPR.
The agreement, signed in the presence of various Dutch sports associations and with the backing of the Dutch Embassy in Morocco, seeks to maintain collaborative efforts in rehabilitation and reintegration.
During the event, the Head of DGAPR, Mohamed Salah Tamek, commended Tibu Africa’s efforts and dedication to organizing activities for incarcerated individuals. Both parties expressed an interest in collaborating to guarantee the best interest of juvenile inmates.
The partnership features sports programs tailored to detained teenagers across correctional centers, preparing them for societal reintegration upon release. It also encompasses training DGAPR staff in relevant fields.
In a social media post, Tibu Africa celebrated the partnership renewal, highlighting their commitment to using football as a tool for positive change among young detainees and their communities.
“We are pleased to announce the renewal of the partnership. Together, we’re committed to utilizing football as a powerful tool for positive change for juvenile inmates and their communities,” the statement reads.
Established in 2011, Tibu Africa is a major Moroccan organization dedicated to the education and integration of young people through athletics.
